About Me

Sue Maxwell
I've worked hard over the years to perfect my genealogy skills and love to help and teach others. I just feel like I need to give back. So many people need the basics or need to refresh their own skills. Along the way we all learn new ways of accomplishing our family history and genealogy and new ideas come along that I want to pass on. There are a lot of great genealogy blogs out there and I don't want to reinvent the wheel. I just want to make this blog a "home page" type of reference...how to find those tools and articles that will help you get a kick start or keep you going.

I am a genealogist and blogger specializing in teaching, training and mentoring others with their computer and software skills, family history, and genealogical research. My focus has been on helping others find the joy in identifying and learning about their ancestors. I am actively involved in the genealogy community, recently serving on the Executive Board as Vice President of the Utah Genealogical Association (UGA), currently a member of UGA, NGS, and UVTAGG where I am a presenter and trainer.  I recently finished serving as Director, trainer and tech support for our local family history center; and I am a regular trainer at the Riverton FamilySearch Library and at the UVTAGG Saturday Seminars. I am now a Family History Area Advisor for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I retired after a 27-year career in management in the utility industry.
